HOME REMEDIES FOR DARK CIRCLES UNDER EYE
Dark Circles under eye are very common in both men and women these days. Often accompanied with bags, fine lines. The outermost skin around our eyes known as epidermis is very thin & sensitive. The exterior surface of the epidermis, known as stratum corneum, consists of dead skin. Due to poor circulation of blood and lymph liquid around our eyes. Lymph ensure that blood circulates properly and nourishes the skin tissue as well. If the lymphatic system is obstructed it no longer dissolve the pigment properly in the blood begins to accumulate in the thin layer of skin around our eyes. Which make the skin around our eyes look more dark against the rest of skin.
Most people feel that dark circles around under eye make them look older and unhealthy. Dark circles may be the sign of a serious health problems. According to me treat the cause first rather than treating the symptoms. Good sleep and balanced diet is must to avoid dark circles.
COMMON CAUSE FOR DARK CIRCLES UNDER YOUR EYES ?
- STRESS OR ANXIETY
Stress can be the reason behind dark circles around your eyes because due to stress blood is provide to every body part except face which makes it look pale and dark. Sometime lymphatic system is obstructed it no longer dissolve the pigment properly in the blood and begins to accumulate in the thin layer of skin around our eyes which cause dark circles under eyes.
- AGING
Aging can also be the reason behind dark circle. As you become older your skin get thinner and dark circle appear more dark against the rest of skin.
- SUN DAMAGE
Unprotected sun exposure increase melanin production that will lead to dark circles.
- DEHYDRATION
Dehydration can be caused by insufficient fluid consumption. It can be cause when body loses more body water then we intake. The underlying bone around our eyes become more prominent when we don’t consume sufficient water our body needs.
- LACK OF SLEEP AND FATIGUE
Lack of sleep (Insomnia) and fatigue can also the main reason behind dark circles under eye. Deprivation of sleep can make your eyes dry and pale this cause dark circles.
- ALLERGIES
Due to nasal allergy our nasal passage get blocked and this puts all pressure on our nose which prevent blood supply to our part of our face. The blood and begins to accumulate in the thin layer of skin around our eyes. Which leads to dark circles.
- GENETICS
Genetics can also be the reason for dark circles. It can also be inherited it from your previous generation. Those who are suffering from hyper pigmentation tends to have some areas of skin darker against the rest of skin.
- UNHEALTHY EATING HABITS
Irregular diet or eating junk food can lead to deficiency in a vitamin, nutrient or mineral in our body. We should consume healthy food rich in iron, Vitamin K and so on.
ARE DARK CIRCLES PERMANENT ?
Not really unless they are genetic. If dark circles are caused due to lack of sleep, fatigue then it can be solved with moderate sleep.
PREVENTION OF DARK CIRCLE
- Sleep for 8 hours everyday Inadequate sleep is the most common cause. But don’t overdo because oversleeping can also cause it.
- Hydrate yourself drink plenty of fluids
- Take proper balanced diet rich in protein, vitamin, zinc, iron and minerals.
- Excessive rubbing of eye area can also lead to dark circles.
- Avoid consumption of caffeine
- Avoid Smoking and consumption of Alcohol as it is the cause of los s of collagen and dehydration.
- Always sleep on your back because sleeping on your stomach may cause fluid retention under your eyes.
- Protect your eyes from sun by wearing UV protection sunglasses and always make sure to apply SPF 30+ sunscreen before stepping out.
- Reduce stress
Note : always do a patch test before applying any product on your skin, to determine whether it suits your skin or not.
HOW TO HIDE DARK CIRCLES ?
Conceal it with yellow undertone concealer to neutralize the blue/purple color of dark circles. Using a sponge, concealer brush or fingertip dap little amount of
concealer around eye area.
