So, This year’s IPL 2023 is little different in terms of some rules just like this new IPL Impact Player rule 2023. The rule is very simple that both teams can replace one player from their after the match has started.

For Example, In the opening match of IPL 2023 Ambati Rayudu from CSK batted in the first innings, but he was replaced in the second innings and Tushar Deshpandey took his place. He bowled and took a wicket too. So, Tushar Deshpandey became the first Impact player of IPL 2023.

Similarly, From Gujarat Titans Kane Williamson got injured in the first innings while fielding and trying to take a catch at the boundary, He jumped and got injured. So, In the second innings when Gujarat came to bat.

Then, Kane Williamson was replaced by Sai Sudharshan. So, Sai Sudarshan became the second Impact player of IPL 2023.R

Rules to Include Impact Players in IPL 2023

So, The rules are simple, any team can change only one player and introduce another player by replacing the previous player.

The impact players must be Indian player(to promote local talent).

The teams can change players and it totally depends on them but usually inclusion begins in second innings

Impact players can only be included anytime during both innings or if the original playing 11 players has injured.

If the team does not want to change the original players and include Impact players in the second innings, it’s totally their choice.
