IPL Cricket LED Stumps Cost broken by Arshdeep Singh in PBKS vs MI Match
IPL Cricket LED Stumps Cost
The LED stumps and bails used in IPL matches are provided by an Australian company that has a long-term contract with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The company supplies LED stumps and bails for all international matches played in India, as well as for IPL and other domestic tournaments. These stumps come with small microprocessor chips installed inside them and low voltage batteries.
What are they made of wood or metal?
Traditionally, stumps and bails are made from wood. However, the new flashing LED wickets are made from a composite plastic, which is embedded with LED lights. This new equipment is known as the Zing wicket system and was developed by Bronte Eckermann, a former Australian grade cricketer who was inspired by one of his daughter’s toys.
Cost of LED Stump
According to multiple reports, a set of LED stumps cost around $40,000 that is 32.81 lakh. This includes three led stumps with camera, voice recorder, and bails also.
